Abstract: Recently, developer Lovell and housing association Pobl Group announced the commencement of a £28.65 million residential development in Haverfordwest, Wales. The project aims to increase the supply of affordable housing and is in a prime location just six miles from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

In Haverfordwest, Wales, a new residential development project named Augustus Grange has been launched with a total investment of £28.65 million. This initiative is a collaboration between Lovell, a renowned developer, and housing association Pobl Group. Situated just 6 miles from the scenic Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on the west coast of Wales, Augustus Grange aims to address the local demand for affordable housing.


The project will feature 115 residences, consisting of two-bedroom and three-bedroom homes. Among these, approximately 36 homes will be available for open market sale, 37 homes will be offered under shared ownership, and the remaining 42 homes will be available for social rent. Notably, around 79 of these homes are designated as affordable housing, aiming to assist local residents in meeting their housing needs.


James Daff, Managing Director for Lovell in the region, expressed enthusiasm about expanding Lovell's presence in southern Wales through this significant project. He highlighted the smooth cooperation with Pobl and their shared commitment to delivering high-quality residences in Haverfordwest.

Haverfordwest is known for its historic Haverfordwest Castle, a landmark dating back to the 12th century, which, along with the River Cleddau, contributes to the town's unique urban landscape.


Construction at Augustus Grange has already commenced, with completion expected by 2026. The first homes are slated to be listed for sale in the summer of 2024, coinciding with the opening of the sales center to the public, showcasing this promising residential community.


Adam Roberts, Development Lead (West) at Pobl, emphasized their awareness of the housing affordability challenges faced by residents in Pembrokeshire. He expressed pride in collaborating with Lovell to enhance the availability of affordable housing in such a prime location.


Augustus Grange is conveniently located less than a 15-minute drive from renowned Blue Flag beaches, boasting excellent transport links and abundant community amenities. This development not only injects new vitality into Haverfordwest but also provides more families with accessible and high-quality housing options.
