Abstract: The founders of a new 'Landlord Leadership Community', brought together by OSB Group, have unveiled plans to focus on education and training at its launch event.

The organisation will develop educational programmes and guides for landlords and work with trade associations, government agencies and educational institutions.

Secondly, the organisation will focus on communication, encouraging landlords to use digital platforms, as well as helping to create a "standardised communication system" between landlords and tenants and other stakeholders.

Collaboration will also be key, as landlord forums will be set up to keep the dialogue open, while the group will focus on driving positive industry perceptions.

Jon Hall, OSB Group Managing Director for Mortgages and Savings, said: 'As one of the founding members, we are delighted to be publishing this mission statement outlining our continued commitment to driving positive change within the private rented sector for all stakeholders.

It was widely recognised in discussions that the 'but-for-rent' sector is not dying, which is far from the truth. We have more opportunities and the current changes in the market will allow those who are truly passionate about positive change to thrive. Without co-operation and education for everyone, whatever their role, there can be no sustainable future for the industry.

As part of the Landlord Leaders Community, OSB Group is committed to continuing its strong support in creating a positive future for the private rented sector.

The group describes the sector as a fragmented industry, which means that more communication and co-operation needs to be encouraged.
