Abstract: The demand for park homes in the southern region of England is rapidly increasing, particularly in the warm yet high-priced areas of the southeast and southwest.

According to research by Quickmove Properties, there is a growing demand for park homes in the southern region of England. Park homes are movable homes that can be relocated to different sites, and homeowners only need to pay ground rent. Buyer demand can be gauged by calculating the number of park homes available on the market and those already under contract.

The research results show that the southeast and southwest are the most demanding regions, accounting for 26.7% and 26.6% of the demand, respectively.

This trend reflects a common phenomenon where park homes are more popular in warmer but higher-priced areas of England. The East and West Midlands are also among the top regions for park home purchases, accounting for 23.7% and 22% of the demand, respectively.

Mark Otterwell, Sales Director at Quickmove Properties, noted that an increasing number of relocators are considering purchasing park homes because they are cost-effective and offer an active lifestyle, providing an attractive alternative to retirement apartments and traditional brick-and-mortar houses.

As many relocators are unable to afford traditional homes, this growing interest is reflected in the latest Quickmove Demand Index.

In terms of growth areas, the northwest region saw the largest increase in buyer demand for park homes, with a growth of 2.2% since the second quarter of this year. Hertfordshire is the most demanding county, with a demand rate of 44.2% and a quarterly growth rate of 5.8%, making it the most competitive area for park homes.

South Yorkshire and Bedfordshire follow closely, accounting for 35.0% and 34.3% of the demand, respectively.

Herefordshire saw the most significant growth in demand within a single quarter, increasing by 16.2% and reaching a demand rate of 26.6%.

Derbyshire and Cheshire also experienced significant growth, with the former seeing a 12.1% increase in park home demand, reaching 29.2%, and the latter's demand growing by 8.7% to reach 34.3%.

In summary, the demand for park homes in the southern region of England is continuously rising, especially in warm yet high-priced areas.

This reflects the situation where many relocators cannot afford traditional homes, and park homes are becoming an appealing choice due to their affordability and active lifestyle.
